Smile Transformation with Porcelain Veneers

Service-details

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, lustrous layers of dental ceramic that are bonded to the visible surfaces of the teeth to conceal imperfections such as chips, discoloration, or uneven shapes. Composite veneers, made from tooth-colored resin, offer a more affordable alternative. While porcelain is more durable and resistant to staining, both materials provide a natural-looking enhancement to your smile. The application process is similar for each type, and the right choice depends on your aesthetic goals, budget, and long-term expectations.

Dental veneers can dramatically transform your smile in as few as two or three visits. At Aesthetic Dentistry in Orland Park, IL, Dr. Bennett, and Dr. Barrera begins the process with a comprehensive oral examination to assess your dental health and discuss your smile goals. If there are no underlying issues such as tooth decay or gum disease, and veneers are deemed appropriate, a preparation appointment will be scheduled. During this visit, little to no anesthesia is typically needed as Dr. Barrera gently buffs about half a millimeter of enamel from the tooth surfaces to make room for the veneers. They will then take detailed impressions of your teeth. If you experience any sensitivity after preparation, temporary veneers may be placed to protect your teeth while your custom restorations are being created.

Once your tooth impressions are complete, they are sent—along with precise shading information—to a trusted dental laboratory, where a skilled ceramist fabricates your custom porcelain veneers. These restorations are carefully crafted to match your natural teeth in color, shape, and translucency. After about two weeks, you’ll return to the office to have your temporary veneers removed and your final porcelain veneers permanently bonded in place, completing your smile transformation.
